Open the Ports

What is happening in the Mediterranean is unacceptable.

The vessels Aquarius and Sea Watch 3 are blocked at sea without having received authorisation to land in a port of safety, with hundreds of rescued people on board.

Borderline Sicilia strongly requests that Italy respect agreements of international law and human rights.

The words of the Minister of the Interior are dangerous and extremely serious, and have been pronounced within the context of an Italian government that is taking responsibility for an eventual tragedy.

No electoral campaign nor any show of force between states can be operated by gambling with the lives of men, women and children.
