Agrigento, investigation on Omnia Academy. Five Million business with migrants.

From Meridionews

Conspiracy
whose purpose was committing fraud against the state and deceit in public acts.
This is the charge seven people have to face, according to the Agrigento attorney.
At the investigation core Omnia Academy, association for social promotion,
located at Favara, that had revenue of 5 Million euros running its migrants’
centres in 2014.

According
to magistrates Salvatore Vella and Matteo Delpini, coordinated by Public
Prosecutor Renato Di Natale, the association had committed several malpractices,
especially in those procedures necessary for asylum request.

Under the
direction of captain Stilian Cortese, around forty finance officials, have made
perquisites in the municipal offices of several towns in the surroundings of Agrigento.

The Yellow Flames (the Finance Corps) have gathered documents
from the municipalities of Naro, Camastra, Casteltermini, Canicattì, Favara,
Cammarata, San Giovanni Gemini, Palma di Montechiaro, Castrofilippo,
Alessandria della Rocca, Cattolica Eraclea, Sant’Angelo Muxaro, Porto Empedocle
and Grotte.

Already in
May, five notices of investigation because of fraud and deceit had been issued,
with charge of exaggerating the numbers of migrants accepted in the structures
administrated by the association so as to receive government financing.

According
to evidence collected by financiers Omnia Academy – who represents one of the
most important local structures in the hospitality field, with more than eighty
employees – had increased by four times its revenue in just one year, going
from 1,5 million euros in 2013 to 5 million euros in 2014.
